BMW Group Korea announced on the 28th that it held the 20th completion ceremony of the BMW Apprentice and the 21st launch ceremony and the 8th launch ceremony of the BMW Ausbildung.
BMW Apprentice Program and Ausildung are BMW Group Korea’s representative automotive professional talent training programs. On the previous day, BMW Group Korea held an event at the Nest Hotel in Yeongjong-do, Incheon to announce the completion of the apprentice and the launch of a new one.
The BMW Apprentice Program is an industry-academic cooperation talent training program. It provides professional technical education and scholarships to outstanding students selected by universities with automotive departments, and supports them to get a job at BMW’s official dealer after graduation. BMW Group Korea started an agreement with eight universities in 2004 and currently has cooperative relationships with 36 universities.
Ausbildung is a dual vocational education program in Germany that combines work and learning. BMW Ausbildung participants will receive stable salaries by signing formal training labor contracts with seven dealers, and after completing the course, they will obtain a professional bachelor’s degree. At the same time as obtaining an education certificate awarded by the Federal Chamber of Commerce of Germany, you can get a job at a company where you worked, and you are eligible for BMW Junior Technician.
A total of 250 people attended the completion and launching ceremony, including Jung Sang-cheon, head of BMW Group Korea Service, 7 dealers’ service heads, 20th and 21st graduates of Apprentice, and 8th graduates of Ausbildong.
“BMW is a global company deeply rooted in Korea and is actively investing and contributing to society,” said Jung Sang-cheon, head of the headquarters. “I am confident that talented people who have cultivated through the highest level of education programs will lead BMW’s innovation and development as a major member in the artificial intelligence (AI) era.”
Meanwhile, as a result of BMW Group Korea’s commitment to nurturing future automotive industry talents and close industry-academic cooperation, a total of 2,248 trainees, including 1,791 graduates from the Apprentice program and 457 graduates from Ausildong, were officially hired by BMW’s seven official dealers.
