University information day virtual for the first time – News der Uni Erfurt
The University of Erfurt and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt invite you to their joint university information day on Saturday, May, 16. Due to the corona pandemic, however, it will not take place on campus, but for the first time virtually.
The programme of the two Erfurt universities includes virtual tours of the campus and the libraries, but lectures on the study programme are also offered virtually. Lecturers also offer sample lectures, the student advisory services and student campus specialists at the universities are available to answer questions in the chat as well as in short question & answer clips.
Those interested in studying at the university can combine the fields of study of interest to them with just a few clicks using the online tool “STUDIMAT” and receive all the necessary information on the course of studies, admission requirements, study contents as well as tips from graduates who have already successfully completed their studies.
In the “Online-Self-Assessment” of the University of Applied Sciences, those interested in a Bachelor’s programme can find out whether the study contents correspond to their interests, can test their knowledge in small exercises and find out what tips the students give and what a timetable actually looks like in the end.
The “Studierendenwerk Thüringen” is also present at the virtual university information day at the University and UAS Erfurt and provides advice on all aspects of housing and student finance.
“Letting the university information day take place virtually is an absolute innovation for us and at the same time of course an experiment”, explains Carmen Voigt, head of university communication at the University of Erfurt. “But in times of Corona, we have to be flexible in order to reach prospective students who are currently unable to visit us on campus”. And Luise Reiber, press spokeswoman at UAS Erfurt, adds: “We are looking forward to the task of transferring our information offerings to a virtual environment. And who knows, maybe the new paths we take today will tomorrow be a natural extension of our offer for prospective students in Erfurt as a university location.
The universities provide information about the exact programme on their joint website for the university information day at www.hit-erfurt.de.
